Start from just above the Church in Mariginer and follow the marked trail. First sign states 4h 30 to La Mole but If you are a fast walker and don't linger on the Summit you can do it in 3.45 or so for the return journey. First hour (at 3.45 return journey pace) is spent going up through the trees on a saft but steep path. After an hour or so you break out onto the Alpine pastures and the Chalet d'Alpage of 'Les Granges'. From here you can see the summit cross which will probably take about another 50 mins or so. The final summit ridge is quite steep and airy but feels very safe with only steep meadows falling away on each side. The views to Mont Blanc in one Direction and down the valley towards Geneva in the other are quite amazing. As 'La Mole' is a reasonably stand alone mountain you really feel you are up in a stunning location.
Author’s recommendation
This is a longer route up the Mountain and is probably at its physical hardest in the forest section as the path is steep but without rocks/steps to ease the burden on the achillees!. This is a popoular mountain and from the Les Granges plateau to the summit cross you will very likely meet some fellow hikers if conditions are good. The views are stunning in all directions so this mountain is a must.

Pretty simple. At the trailhead just follow the 'La Mole' sign. There is another signpost about 20 mins up where again follow the 'La Mole' sign. There are no more signs until the summit but the path is obvious all the way to the Les Granges plateau and then you can see the summit and ridge route from there, going around the edge (left hand) of the Les Granges bowl before starting up the ridge.
