Kythnos Trail 08

Starting by the port of Merichas, this route takes hikers to the beach of Flambouria. In a large part, dirt roads are followed with a view of the port, until one gets close to the slope north of the settlement of Flambouria. At this point, a path begins that crosses and descends the slope. This path is distinct at the beginning, until the point where it becomes very steep and one almost completely loses track of it. The path ends at the beach. The part of the route that goes up the hill towards the east, is inaccesible from the point shown on the map, but it can be followed from the adjacent beach, right after the church of Panagia Flabouriani. This path is not in good condition but it is accessible, even with a little more vegetation.The path that is shown on the public maps to start beyond the church of Agios Konstantinos towards the beach of Kanala, is not accessible, so it is skipped.
