Safety information
Nothing special. Be careful on the precipituous promontory!
Mind also the possibility to meet a bear! They usually avoid people, but making some additional noise can help. (If you meet a bear, never retreat directly back! Always make first one step left or right and only then go backwards. The reason: to avoid stepping in your own shit :)
Tips and suggestions
You can visit also the summit to the NW of Krempa saddle. It's called Krokar. It's higher and very panoramic, the last part of ascent is not marked.Roadbook
We can park either in Borovec, or we can drive further to the hamlet of Inlauf.
Read the explanatory tables at the parking lot, then start hiking towards the SW, across a big meadow. On top of the meadow you enter a beech forest and continue by a broad path, mostly following a distinct, shallow ravine. When you exit the woods, you are already on the nice Krempa meadow. Continue over it to the distinct saddle on the main ridge. Nice, panoramic bench there.
From the saddle you continue left (towards the SE), following the main ridge. The trail is still good and well beaten, but it's a bit weaker. On some places it goes steeply uphills, but it's still not demanding. Just below the summit of Krempa, we can go right on an exposed promontory, with very nice views across the Kolpa canyon. The trail there is more demanding and requires some additional care. Then we continue the ascent and in a few minutes reach the summit of Krempa which is not panoramic (forested).
