Krabbes Green Ring Quality Trail
The trail that circles the town of Kjellerup is named after Christopher Krabbe (1833–1930). He served as a district magistrate, was a member of the Folketing, and, among other things, served as Minister of Defense for a time.
He had a major influence on the development of the town of Kjellerup and succeeded in having a town plan adopted (the first such plan drawn up for a town that was not a market town).
Work on the town plan began in 1889 and laid the foundation for the green belt surrounding the town. It wasn’t given its name until 100 years later.
Along the way, there is plenty of art, and all the artworks are labeled. You’ll pass a newly planted apple orchard, as well as a sensory garden. There are many benches along the way. Some of the benches were designed by the artist Mads Odgård. There is no immediate access to drinking water.
