Follow the signs to Grießbachklamm along a lightly trafficked road. After a few minutes on foot, you reach the parking lot for Grießbachklamm, from where the hiking trail runs along the stream into the Grießbachklamm. Expect suspension bridges, walkways running above the stream, and two waterfalls. The natural jewel Grießbachklamm offers variety. In a slightly wider part of the small side valley, you will find seating areas, a barefoot path with a meditation circle, and much more. At the end of the gorge, you follow a short stretch of the forest road towards "Angerlalm and Huberalm" until the "Jägersteig" branches off to the right into the forest. At the end of the trail lies the Angerlalm (approx. 2 h 30 min.), where there is an opportunity to stop for refreshments with a magnificent view of the Loferer Steinberge and the Steinplatte. After a short rest, continue past a small pond towards "Obingalm and Adlerspoint." The route now follows forest roads towards "Baumoosalm and Baumooskogel," passing numerous alpine pastures that are still used agriculturally. A detour to Baumooskogel (4 h 30 min.), the highest peak on the Kalkstein, is worthwhile, offering a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding mountain world. The descent first takes a very nice path through forest and alpine pasture areas and after about 30 minutes leads to a forest road, which takes you to the hamlet of Scheffau – from there the path continues down along a trail to Oberhofen near St. Johann in Tirol, and from here you reach the town center via the Achendamm (Murweg) to the end of the KoasaTrail.

    Author’s recommendation

A detour to the Huberalm cross and/or the Baumooskogl is worthwhile. Stunning panoramic views are guaranteed.
