A circular route through the village and the forest with a wonderful view over the Rhine Plain.
The path initially passes many historic buildings of the village. A beautiful forest stretch gently climbs to the vine-covered plateau of the Wolfssteig nature reserve. Immediately after the chestnut forest of Zimmer-Berg, we are rewarded with a beautiful view over the Rhine Plain.
UFFBASSE! - Campaign for respectful coexistence in nature
Always behave considerately, kindly, and thoughtfully towards everyone you meet on the way.
Take care of nature, do not destroy plants, and always stay on the paths. Try to avoid excessive noise and leave the forest before dusk.
Remember a trash bag for the journey and take your waste with you again.
Please always keep your dog on a leash. Other visitors and animals will thank you.
For your own safety, observe all trail closures, even on weekends.
Park only in designated parking areas. Leave space for emergency vehicles and agricultural machinery.
Give priority to agricultural and forestry traffic.

Safety information

General information:
Especially in autumn, it should be noted that fallen leaves on the ground can cover unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or heavy rain, trees can still fall or branches can drop afterward. Particularly in adverse weather conditions, natural paths can have muddy and slippery sections. Not all rocks or ravines are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is required in some places. You have to expect such path impairments when undertaking a hike. If you believe certain sections are impassable for you, you should bypass them.
NOTE:
We strive to announce all closures caused by forestry work or hunting associations on this platform. Nevertheless, there may be situations where hiking trails are closed and we have not been informed. If you unexpectedly encounter a trail closure or detour, please observe the instructions for your own safety.

Equipment
For our hiking routes, we recommend the following equipment as standard:
Sturdy footwear
Weather-appropriate clothing
Sun and rain protection
A sufficient supply of food and drinks, as there are not always places to eat or shop available or open.
Even though the paths are consistently very well marked, it is advisable for safety reasons to always carry a suitable hiking map so that, for example, you can quickly find a safe area in case of a thunderstorm or emergency.
