Hike through the idyllic small Kleberbachtal with beautiful nature and an opportunity to stop for refreshments at Glashütter Weiher.
The route passes by the Glashütter Weiher located in the water protection area, the Lindenbrunnen with Kneipp walking basin, to the 335 m high Kleber Berg near Spiesen. Then into the idyllic Kleberbachtal, which belongs to the fauna-flora habitat area Limbacher and Spieser Wald, and is under special protection.
Author’s recommendation
The pond owes its name to the Glashütter Hof, where a glassworks was operated from 1747. However, glass production was not profitable and the operation was discontinued in 1954. “The reason was that the neighboring glassworks in Friedrichsthal and Merchweiler already used coal firing, but Rohrbach was still dependent on wood firing,” as can be read in a nicely illustrated chronicle by the Rohrbach resident Karl Abel (“Rohrbach Nostalgia”). Dare challenge! Complete two rounds in the Kneipp walking basin at Lindenbrunnen.
