Katzenellnbogen - Diez

From Katzenellnbogen, initially northeastwards over fields past the farms Am Michert into the forest. Further north along the "Rintstraße" through the forest. On both sides of the path, barrows from Celtic times (see map). Detour to the Hibernia pit, Hohlenfels castle (refreshment stop), Bärbach monastery and Schaumburg (see map). Literature about the Einrich (this is the name of the region) also mentions remains of rocket launch ramps from World War II, said to lie along this path. The route continues on Fuchsenhöhler Straße out of the forest onto the fields until reaching Diez. The public transport bus returns to Katzenellnbogen.
