Selected alternatives for you
Varied round to impressive rock formations and through beautiful valleys with great viewpoints. Little frequented => good alternative route when the Dahner premium hiking trails are overcrowded.

The route follows the premium hiking trail "Napoleon-Steig" for the most part in the first section. First, you reach the Büttelfels, whose rock hole can be climbed via a ladder. From there, a beautiful view over Dahn and the Schafsfelsen. Then you pass through the rock gate of the Büttelfels. After the Büttelfels, the route continues on forest paths to the Napoleonfelsen, where a large bench invites you to rest. After a short descent, you come to the last third of the tour, which then leads over fields and meadows and offers a beautiful view of the Hochstein and the Dahn castle group. Orientation: continuously well signposted by the hiking signs; you hardly need a map or GPS. Types of paths: 80% natural paths (half narrow forest paths / half wider forest roads), 20% paved paths / asphalt. Dining option: numerous dining options are available in the immediate vicinity of the parking lot.
Author’s recommendation
The last section of the route offers outdoor photographers beautiful motifs of the Dahn castle group and the west face of the Hochstein.
No dining options on the tour: bring enough provisions.
