The approximately 24 km long high alpine hiking trail runs along the border of Bavaria and Tyrol from Hinterstein via Willersalpe, the Vorder and Hintere Schafwanne and the Lahnerscharte to the Prinz-Luitpold-Haus. From here, it goes via the Giebelhaus through the Hinterstein valley back to the starting point (regional bus). The Jubiläumsweg has existed since 1898/99 when it was created by the DAV section Allgäu-Immenstadt on the occasion of its 25th anniversary – hence its name. Because of its length, it requires a high level of fitness. During this varied and exciting hike, we pass many mountain peaks and a mountain lake, the Schrecksee. Especially the scenic diversity, flora, and wildlife of the high mountains make this route a special experience. One day or one and a half days should be planned for the hike. Overnight stays are recommended at Willersalpe (bunks) or at Prinz-Luitpold-Haus (DAV hut).
