During the hike on the west side of the Saualpe around the Johannserberg we meet the Mariazeller (06) and the Eisenwurzenweg (08) and enjoy the view towards Central Carinthia!
After a view towards Central Carinthia we leave the parking place (SH 896 m) and follow in a forest section the Noric hiking trail and the Mariazeller Weg 306. After a clearing in the village of Gretschitz we pass south of the Plötschkekogel and reach the Kontscharkreuz. At Ferlinka, west of the Sapotnigofen, we meet the Eisenwurzenweg 308, which leads us into the center of the sunlit municipality Diex. After visiting the inn we pass the fortified church heading for Michaeler Berg/Probstkogel – before that, we leave the Eisenwurzenweg at the Lessiak farm. After circling the mountain, we descend sharply to the Diexer Bach. Gravel roads and partly asphalted paths lead us past the village of St. Ulrich/Johannserberg south of Diexer Straße L 113 back to the start point after about 9 km and around 750 m altitude difference, Johannserberg 4, parking lot junction: Diexer Straße L 113-Mariazeller Weg (306).
