The peaks of Jägerkamp and Aiplspitz, as advanced corner points of the Rotwand group, cannot be seen from the preferred starting point Spitzingsee. Only in the upper part of the ascent path do they reveal their "true" face. The tour over Jägerkamp does not require extensive alpine experience, but the subsequent transition to the summit of Aiplspitz is only recommended for sure-footed and confident mountain hikers. Along the way are Jägerbauernalm and Schönfeldhütte.
From the parking lot at Spitzingsattel, first a short piece on the left over open terrain in several switchbacks up to the edge of the forest. Keeping left on trail traces through the forest, past some rugged rock faces, until we meet the path coming up from the left from Josefsthal. Now right on this path in many switchbacks up to the meadows of Jägerbauernalm. From the alm, right, then left, directly towards the north ridge of Jägerkamp, then on the ridge trail through dwarf pines in 30 minutes to the summit. Descending eastward, passing Benzingspitz on the right and into a saddle at 1635 m, southeast of which there is a trail junction. Left continue on path over open terrain and slightly below the connecting ridge towards Tanzeck. We bypass this on the left side (wire rope secured); continuing on the rocky southwest ridge of Aiplspitz to the summit.From the summit over Tanzeck back to the trail junction, which we cross, then down over alpine terrain to the Upper and Lower

Heinrich Bauregger, geboren 1951 im Berchtesgadener Land, studierte Germanistik und Geschichte (M.A.). Nach seinem Studium war er viele Jahre in Buchverlagen tätig (unter anderem auch beim Rother Bergverlag). Von Kindheit an in den Bergen wandernd unterwegs, lebte er seine Passion zunächst in den Alpen aus, dann folgten zahlreiche Trekkingtouren in den Bergen der Welt (Himalaya, Ostafrika, Mexiko, Anden). Schließlich entdeckte er die Abruzzen (Mittelitalien) als seine zweite Heimat („Tra Mare e Monti“). Heute lebt er abwechselnd in München und in Sulmona als freier Lektor und Autor. Er hat zahlreiche erfolgreiche Wander-, Rad- und Reisebücher verfasst.
