This old, amusingly intricate trail connection from the Wertach town to Irsee culminates in the historic brewery inn Klosterbräu. In the vaulted cellar next door, the beer is still brewed the traditional way. It is served naturally and unfiltered.
From the bus stop »Buchloer Straße« in Kaufbeuren, 670 m, we walk briefly into town and take the Waldbauschüler trail towards Irsee. You can refresh your feet at a Kneipp facility. The forest road ascends barely noticeably through mixed forest. We simply follow the trim exercise route and can additionally engage in physical activity as we please. We leave aside the station reachable by stairs and head downhill at the following junction.Shortly afterwards, we follow the memorial stone for the estate owner Höfelmayr, murdered in 1870, along the Eybach gently downhill. After the first bridge and at the subsequent fork, head right and after a few steps take a path turning left. This wonderful, secluded path with slight ups and downs through the Staffelwald requires a watchful eye.Further on, a forest educational trail takes us in.
