About 3 km from Kals to the Taurerwirt. Attention: Access to the Taurerwirt is only allowed for guests; the hiking parking lots are located about 500 m before. Directly after the Taurerwirt, turn right and follow the marked path first along meadows, then through light forest to the forest road. Now always follow the forest road to the Pifang Alm and continue partly off-trail, but flat and easy over the alms to the valley end.
Return either the same way or alternatively shortly before the Mauriger Trog via the Stüdlhütte to Lucknerhaus and from there by public transport (taxi or public bus) back to the Taurerwirt.
