Ascent to the summit of Monte Celva, a 360° lookout over Valsugana and the Adige Valley.
Hike starting from Passo Cimirlo (733 m) and climbing the southeast slope of Monte Celva to reach its summit (998 m). This route is appreciated by history enthusiasts and for the panorama over Valsugana: numerous First World War military works can be visited: caves, rifle trenches, artillery positions, and the famous gallery called the "Hundred Steps" which can be partially walked as an alternative to the trail.
Author’s recommendation

Roadbook
From the Cimirlo pass, you ascend to Forte Roncogno, following trail 419. Continuing on the trail that climbs towards Monte Celva, in a few minutes you reach the detour to visit the Sentiero dei 100 scalini (Path of 100 Steps). Resuming trail 419, you arrive at the lower area of Celva, called Ex osservatorio (former observatory), where it is possible to walk the long trench that surrounded the area and enter the cave works. The trail towards the summit of Celva continues among what remains of the defensive system. Once at the top, you can see the shaft where the armored dome once stood. Descending westward below the summit near the large repeater, it is possible to access the cave positions. The return follows the ascent route.
