Ingierstrand is first and foremost a popular beach located on the southeast side of the Oslofjord. But what makes this location stand out, even more, is the spectacular hike located only a hundred meters from the coastline.
This hike is rugged due to lots of roots and rocks, yet is still enjoyable for a hike or run. Upon reaching the road, there are awesome views of the fjord. The hike ends at Ingierstrand Beach, so make sure to bring your swimming and picnic gear too!

Roadbook
The trail begins southeast (to the left) between the lower and upper parking lots. Throughout the hike, you will enjoy a thick pine forest, a multitude of birch trees, and lush ferns providing ample shade, but also allowing rays of sunshine to come through on a sunny day. There are plenty of large boulders along the trail which provide fun climbing opportunities and you will also find many areas to relax and soak in the surrounding nature.
Be prepared to take a sharp U-turn to your right when you come to the first fork in the road marked with a sign reading: Strandkollen and Ingierstrand. The trail can sometimes be overgrown from this point on, so wear long pants if you prefer grass and bushes to not rub against your legs.
At the end of the wilderness trail, turn right to head north along the road. This road isn’t heavily frequented and will provide breathtaking views of the Oslofjord during the walk back to the beach.

Bus
Take bus 87, “Ingierstrand”, from the Tollboden bus stop, located between the Opera and Oslo S in downtown Oslo. The bus departs from platform N and typically leaves once per hour.
Car
If traveling via car, you will find two large public parking lots at Ingierstrandveien 30, located across the road from the beach.
