A hike through a large alpine pasture area, which can also be shortened.
The area around the Illingeralm, which is located slightly above the Illingerbergalm, is a pleasant and mostly uncrowded hiking area. The small Illinger Alm route, which omits climbing the Illingerberg, is even suitable for strollers. Despite the gentle alpine terrain, you can enjoy a wonderful view and will be informed during the hike by information boards about alpine life, the geology, and the botany of the area. The entire circular hike is more than adequately signposted and marked in "red-white".
Author’s recommendation
In autumn, when there is fog in the valley, it can be sunny on the Illingeralm!

Safety information
In summer, grazing livestock - keep dogs on a leash
Another starting point for the Illinger Alm route is also at the mountain station of the Zwölferhorn cable car. Therefore, on the return and the last descent to the starting point, do not be confused by the signs with the cable car symbol.
Roadbook
From the parking lot, follow the adjoining forest road uphill. At the first two junctions, always keep left (make sure to turn left at the second junction - follow the sign Illinger Alm - Route/Spitzeck 35 min). Gently ascending - once even slightly downhill - continue up the wide path for 30 minutes until a sign points to the summit of the Spitzeck, which is just to the left of the road. There you will find benches and a summit cross. The onward path leads back to the forest road, which you reach again about 100m above the point where you left it. Gently ascending, head southwest uphill until you reach another junction where you must leave the wide forest path. Hikers with strollers can stay on the road on the right and return to the starting point via the easy variant. Those who still want to climb the Illingerberg ascend gently over alpine meadows westward toward the wooded ridge. Here a steep path leads briefly uphill. First you reach the "Apfelkoch," a viewpoint with a bench, then after a short descent and ascent with another steeper section the Illinger Berg (no summit cross but signpost and bench). More or less along the ridge, we descend northwards to a wide saddle with alpine meadow (there are several signposts on the descent - perhaps almost too many). When crossing the pasture fence, descend to the right towards an information board (do not go straight ahead - do not follow the sign Illinger Alm route with the cable car symbol) and circle the Illingeralm on the right side. Upon reaching a forest road, follow it to the left back to the starting point.

Directions
From the A1 (West Motorway) either via the Mondsee or Thalgau exit to St. Gilgen at Wolfgangsee. Continue on the B158 for just under 5 km towards Strobl. At the end of the bathing areas near the guesthouse "Gamsjaga" turn right towards Brunn. After another 900m, a toll road begins on the right side. After inserting 6 euros (coins only) into the machine, the barrier opens and you can drive 7.5 km on a narrow road to the Illingerbergalm. Only the beginning is paved. The road is closed during winter from November 1.
