The short hike on the privately owned island offers wonderful views of the Gulf of Morbihan and a diverse, almost Mediterranean vegetation.
From the parking lot at the oyster farm of Larmor-Baden, we walk over the concrete causeway to Île Berder at low tide. There, we take the marked hiking trail to the right, counterclockwise along the coast. Along the way, we enjoy the rich vegetation with cypresses, pines, evergreen holm oaks, and palms, which rather resemble a Mediterranean landscape. Occasionally, there are beautiful views of the island of Gavrinis with its huge burial mound (around 4000 BC), which can be visited by boat from Larmor-Baden.The well-walkable path always follows the coast, with stately residential houses on the left. After about 30 minutes, we reach the southern tip of Île Berder . From here, there is a beautiful view of the small island Er Lannic and the opening of the Gulf of Morbihan (»Goulet«) to the sea.Our marked path continues along the east coast between cypresses and evergreen holm oaks with views of Île aux Moines until after about 1 km we can take a short detour to a late Gothic chapel on the
