This small route gives hikers of Trail 1 the oportunity to move further west across the islandish landscapes and reach Bisti beach.
Setting off outside Episkopi, the trail exits the settlement and ascends towards the area known as Zogeri, where farmhouses and cultivated fields dot the landscape. Following rocky and dirt trails that cross open plains or dense pine forests it heads towards the western tip of the island where Bisti beach is situated, as well as the small chapel of Agios Georgios Bisti nearby.
Author’s recommendation
Take only memories, leave only footprints. As ants and other members of the animal kingdom have not yet figured out how to break down plastic, please do not leave any rubbish on or around the trails. You will find bins in the villages.
If you are cold, do not light a fire! Try to warm up by simply walking faster.Smoking while hiking will not help you and will likely increase the risk of fire.
The locals are not a tourist attraction. If you wish to photograph them, please ask politely.
If you come across a gate blocking the path, feel free to pass through. Please leave it as you found it, either open or closed.
Please stay on the trails. Going off-trail can disturb the local wildlife, damage the natural vegetation, and harm the trail's infrastructure.
Derived from the technical difficulty and the stamina requirements.
