An easy, unmarked but interesting hike for all those who don't want to always just follow markings. Mostly on well-walked forest and agricultural paths, also with some asphalt sections. Several marked hiking trails are also touched. You should definitely be on the move with GPX tracks on your smartphone!

A very beautiful, easy hike from Primsweiler ascending from the valley over the Homrich with a great view, into the Peterswald to the French camp and Peterwald tunnel, over the old brickworks into the Bupricher forest to the new Sodix hut, through the beautiful valley of the Hüttersdorfer Mühlenbach to the Engelgrund nature reserve and recreational area with its great pond. Over the Roman road, somewhat through Hüttersdorf again over the Prims and Primstal railway up into the Fahrwald, and through the Moritzwald downhill to the starting point, the parking lot at the sports field.

After 7 km, you can take a break at the new Sodix hut, which is more of a shelter. About 50 m away, you can also have a picnic on new benches and tables!

At km 10.5, the grounds of the dog club lie along the way; here you can visit the hut by arrangement! Otherwise, a stopover is only possible in Hüttersdorf.

A final rest is also possible at the open sports center at the end of the tour.

From the parking lot at the sports center, we walk down the street 'Zum Sportplatz' and after 100 m turn right into Jahnstraße and after 170 m come to the street 'Zur Sandgrube', here we keep right and immediately reach 'Lebacher Straße'. We walk on the other side of the street to the right over the railway bridge and then the Prims river, and after 225 m we come to the intersection with the L143, 'Körbricher Straße'. On the other side of the street, we walk 410 m to the left on the sidewalk, here a path leads to the right past a house to the edge of the forest. After about 130 m rising in the forest, a narrow path comes in from the right (the marked Rötelweg). We stay on our path and follow the mark further uphill to the 'Homrich' into the open field with a beautiful view. We are now also on a section of the large Schmelzer circular route. We stay on the marked path and after 200 m from the highest point come to an asphalted agricultural field path. Here, we walk left uphill for 590 m to a junction. We continue right and after 540 m come to a fork and to the edge of the Peterwald with the French camp and the Rötel gruben.

Here, we keep right on the Rötelweg and after a few meters a signpost stands (French camp and Peterwald tunnel), it is worth a short descent to the information boards on the camp and tunnel. We go back about 100 m and continue on a wide forest path to the right. For some time, we are no longer on the Rötelweg but still on the large circular route. After 300 m we leave the forest and after another 200 m reach a cross path. We walk left on the field path, after 230 m sharply right and after a further 280 m reach a broad agricultural field path. Here we go 90 m left and take the path to the right at the crossing. We are now on the Rötelweg again! For 1.5 km, the broad path winds through the forest, and we come to a crossing. The Rötelweg leads to the right, but we continue straight ahead for 640 m and come to Düppenweiler Straße. We cross the road and are immediately at the park and picnic area at the new Sodix hut. On the other side somewhat above, we take the path that leads sharply down to the left. We walk straight ahead for 560 m and now come into the beautiful Schmelzer Mühlenbach valley. The very nice trail route above the stream takes us after 1.3 km on this path to the beautiful first house of Hüttersdorf. We walk left into Eulenweg here. After 100 m at the end of the path, we turn sharply left past a property. On a narrow path, we come after about 250 m to Engelgrund pond in the nature reserve. We walk left, cross the bridge and come to a parking lot.

We walk left here, the asphalt path up 330 m and come to a street, we turn right up the street and after 700 m on Römerstraße pass the green area of the dog club. The street takes us straight ahead for another 1.2 km on Römerstraße in Hüttersdorf to the main street, Bettinger Str. Here, we keep left for 35 m and then turn right into Bachstraße, and after 50 m come to Fischerstraße. Here, we continue walking left and cross the Prims after 150 m. After about 700 m straight ahead and crossing the Primstal railway tracks, we reach the forest edge. We walk right for 105 m and take the path that leads left uphill into the forest. At the path crossing after 1.1 km straight uphill, we take the second path that leads relatively flat to the right and after 250 m reach a broader forest path. Here we walk left and after another 630 m reach a fork, going right we come immediately to a large forest path crossing. Here it goes right, and after 370 m we keep left, after 850 m downhill we turn right at the cross path and reach after another 350 m at a barrier the forest edge. Here we walk on a broad path 270 m to the left, after the curve and the first house of Primsweiler, after the house we turn right and after 60 m reach the sports field, along the barrier we reach our starting point, the sports center and parking lot.
