Cozy circular hike around the Hündlekopf in the middle of the Nagelfluh chain with numerous places to stop for refreshments
Green meadows, a small summit, many alpine huts for refreshments, and cairns along the trail – this easy hike offers everything you could wish for on a trip in the Allgäu. The hike starts at the mountain station of the Hündlebahn, which takes you to an elevation of 1,050 meters. From here, the climb to the summit of the Hündlekopf (at an elevation of 1,111 meters) is minimal – but you are rewarded with a beautiful view of the Hochgrath and other peaks, wide meadows, as well as the Alpsee. The hike then continues mostly on well-maintained gravel and natural trails. Numerous alpine huts line the path – stopping for refreshments on this route is almost a must! Return to the parking lot is again by the Hündlebahn.
