The short tour around the Bad Griesbach thermal baths rewards us with beautiful views of Asbach, the former monastery, and the Cuvilliés Church. The route continues to Oberham and Höllthal, where the Sternsteinhof huts offer an idyllic place to stop for a break. This charming complex served as the setting in 1975 for the regional film “Der Sternsteinhof,” starring Gustl Bayrhammer, who later became known as Meister Eder.
We begin our walk through the Höllthal at the large roundabout near the spa administration office in Bad Griesbach. Past the Emmaus Church, we leave the roundabout and briefly follow Ludwigpromenade before turning right onto a finely graveled path that leads us out of Bad Griesbach. However, the proximity to the spa town is still evident not only in the well-maintained path and the many benches, but also in the fact that it is lined with streetlights. After a long left-hand curve, the path joins the wide access road to the Maximilian Tunnel. We turn right and, shortly thereafter, right again onto another side road that leads to the St2116. Just before the state highway, we continue straight ahead on a paved pedestrian and bike path through an underpass. After that, we turn right again and walk along the pedestrian and bike path parallel to the state road toward Oberham, a large farmstead that also offers vacation apartments for the numerous spa guests (→ Variant).Soon after, the
