Fire & smoking - Making fire, smoking, and grilling are strictly prohibited and must be absolutely avoided in the forest! Fires and thus great damage to nature and wildlife can only be prevented in this way.
Travel considerately - Always behave foresightedly, kindly, and considerately towards everyone you meet on the way.
Nature conservation - Stay on marked paths and avoid unnecessary noise when you are in nature. Leave the forest at dusk at the latest to avoid disturbing the rhythm of nocturnal animals.
Picnic & waste - Remember a waste bag for the trip and take your trash home again. Use only the furnished rest areas for breaks and picnics.
Leash dogs - Please always keep your dog on a leash. Other visitors and animals will thank you.

Tips and suggestions
The name Bankräuber-Tour (Bench Robber Route) originated from a working group of the Heimatverein 1998 e.V. Rieschweiler-Mühlbach that refurbished the benches in the community. Observant citizens noticed that benches apparently disappeared overnight. It quickly spread that diligent spirits were the robbers, repairing, painting, or even renewing the benches. The Bankräuber project now includes around one hundred benches, so it was natural to connect the benches with hiking routes. True to the motto "one good idea leads to the next," the hiking trail network "Bankräuber-Touren" was created in Rieschweiler Mühlbach with seven hiking trails and different focuses. The action "Sellemols" with its rural scenes, captured on large photos at over 70 former farms, can be found in both districts. A special guide with explanations is available from the Heimatverein. The "Platz der Vielfalt" is a bee-friendly traffic triangle redesigned by the Heimatverein with old street games for children, a wide variety of plants, and exhibited old farming equipment. The place was awarded in the Hamburg Neighborhood Network action "every meadow counts." Protestant Church, Höhmühlbach, Kirchenstr.13, built in 1955. War memorial, Höhmühlbach, near Zisslersteige, figure of a lying dead soldier, modeled after the famous sculpture by B. Bleekers in the Hofgarten war memorial in front of the Bavarian State Chancellery Munich.
Roadbook
The circular route begins at the train station in Rieschweiler. You pass the railway crossing and the first lovingly decorated bench in Hechtloch and reach the Platz der Vielfalt, a renatured traffic triangle with flowers, vegetables, shrubs, and fruit trees. The return path of the hike passes this place again and invites a longer stay. It continues to the district Höhmühlbach past the new building of the joint fire brigade of Rieschweiler-Mühlbach. You enter a small forest, leave the next bench with the antique "Grumbeerhex" on the left, and turn right into Kirchenstraße. Passing the Protestant church (built in 1955), you arrive at the village fountain at the end of the street. Here you turn right into Hohlstraße, which leads steeply up the hill, then immediately turn left through Steilgasse downhill to Pirmasenserstraße and then right to the village center. In the village center, you repeatedly encounter large photos from the Sellemols campaign of the Heimatverein with their rural scenes from days gone by. The community center, the former converted school, and the old firehouse are located on the right side of Schulstraße. A staircase in Schulstraße leads through a small village park. At the end of the stairs, turn left into Gartenstraße, which leads to a new development area. At the children's playground, walk up Ostringstraße to the cemetery. This is the village entrance to Höhmühlbach on K15. You walk a few meters on the left side towards the war memorial, cross K15 to Zisslersteige, and follow this paved path uphill. Two benches along the way offer relief on the steep ascent. At the next junction, turn right to the sports grounds of Rot Weiß Höhmühlbach. This section of the path rewards with a magnificent panoramic view. At the forest edge, go left downhill slightly and, at the second turn, right past the hunting lodge and a forest tipi built by children. The path continues along the forest edge, crosses another forest path at a raised hide, and transitions into a meadow path. At the next intersection, the path turns right to a pond hidden in the bushes. At this height, you can delight your heart with a wonderful panoramic view and take a break on the beautiful bench. For an even better long-distance view, take a short detour to a boundary stone a few meters along the meadow path towards Dellfeld. Back at the pond, continue along the height on a paved path to the water basin. At the end of the path, you can enjoy a cozy seating area with a beautiful view over Höhmühlbach. The path goes downhill again to K15, turns left there, and is on the return route to the starting point train station, passing the new firehouse and the "Platz der Vielfalt." The beautiful fountain square should not be missed.
