Hocharn, Goldzechkopf and Hoher Sonnblick
Hocharn and Hoher Sonnblick are among the most significant peaks in the Kleine Fleißtal area. Crossing both peaks is considered an outstanding tour for experienced mountaineers. To the north, the peaks drop very steeply, while the sun-facing sides are more hiking-friendly. There we follow the traces of historical mining sites. The ascent to the Goldzechscharte is characterized by old, dilapidated mining tunnels and yellow-brown waste heaps. The former gold mining in the Hohe Tauern experienced a boom until about 1580. "The calf is out, the cow is still inside" is a saying of the locals, because in 3000 years of mining only one fifth of the Tauern gold has been extracted. The "golden rest" will remain undiscovered due to legal regulations (8–10 grams of gold per ton of rock).
From the Alten Pocher initially upwards on the Hans-Tritschl-Weg, which ascends on the orographic right side of the Kleine Fleißbach. It initially runs along the mountain slope alternating between grassy slopes and larch forest. From a protruding rock wall, the terrain becomes steeper and remains heavily strewn with blocks. We cross several little streams and brooks and encounter short stone steps at times. Where a marked arrow points left, we pass some rockfall debris. Shortly thereafter, the Sonnblickbankl, partly covered by a rock, invites us to rest. We reach a loosely covered shoulder with young larches, gently sloping. There the trail veers left and passes under a power line. Shortly after, we reach the work road, 2232 m, with a bench. We then cross the outflow of the Zirmsee (Seebach) to the left, follow the work road for 250 m, and take the trail climbing between grass and blocks. Shortly thereafter, we reach again the work road at Seebichlbankl, on which we ascend five hairpin
