Hippoldspitze (2,643 m) from the Lizumer Hütte
Day trip from the Lizumer Hütte to the scenic Hippoldspitze (2,643 m), also known as Hippold.
From the Lizumer Hütte (2,019 m), it goes past the Soldatenkirche "Christkönig", above the camps of the military training area and below the Torspitze, Eiskarspitze, and Hippoldspitze through short forest passages and alpine meadows to the Grafennsjoch, also called Krovenzjoch, at 2,450 m above sea level. From there, the approximately 30-minute moderately difficult ascent to the Hippoldspitze (2,643 m) takes place. The return route to the Lizumer Hütte follows the ascent identically.
The entire route lies in the military restricted area, is continuously well marked and signposted, and can be mastered without significant difficulties.

Roadbook
The ascent to Grafennsjoch initially runs below the Torspitze and Eiskarspitze, steadily uphill with some flat sections and small ascents and descents through short forest passages and over alpine meadows with several small mountain streams to cross until reaching the fork below the Hippoldspitze.
At this fork, where the AV 314 comes up from the Melangalm, follow the signpost "Weidener Hütte" to the right: now follows the final, consistently ascending, steeper, and somewhat exhausting last ascent over alpine meadows to the Grafennsjoch (2,450 m). At the signpost, turn right (signposted "Hippoldspitze/Vallruckalm") and ascend southwards to the summit cross of the "Hippold". The ascent initially gently rises over meadow terrain, then becomes increasingly rocky and rugged, until in the middle section it goes over a short scree passage and finally over the broad grassy ridge to the summit cross of Hippoldspitze (2,643 m).
The ascent is rewarded with a magnificent 360-degree panorama of the Tyrolean mountain world with its glaciers and the valleys below. From the Hippoldspitze, the starting point of this route, the Lizumer Hütte, can also be seen together with the distinctive peaks Geier (2,857 m), Lizumer Reckner (2,886 m), Lizumer Sonnenspitze (2,831 m), and Tarntalerköpfe (2,756 m).
Hippoldspitze to Lizumer Hut (2h 20 min): The return follows the same route as the ascent. From Hippold, go back to Grafennsjoch (2,450 m) and continue on the AV 319 always following the signage "Lizumer Hütte" to the starting point, the Lizumer Hut (2,019 m).
