From the Weißbrunner reservoir in the innermost Ultental (1900 m, guesthouse, reached via road from St. Gertraud) take path 140 through sparse woods and open slopes moderately to moderately steeply up to Höchster hut (2561 m, managed refuge at the dammed Grünsee; 2 hours).
