Hiking route to the castles of Windstein

The Northern Vosges Regional Nature Park bears witness to a rich historical past. Many castle ruins can be discovered on the Vosges ridges. Here, set out to discover two castles located on the foothills of the village of Windstein, passing near the first forges of Dietrich in Jaegerthal.
Starting from the center of Niederbronn-les-Bains: rue de la vallée, passing villa Riesack, Hochscheidt, Jaegerthal pond, Welschhof farm, Windstein ruins, Windstein mill, Ochsenkopf, villa Riesack, return to Niederbronn-les-Bains. More info: Beautiful view of Niederbronn-les-Bains from villa Riesack - Ruins of the former Dietrich forges at Jaegerthal, where metallurgical activity was definitively stopped in 1890 - Ruins of Old and New Windstein from the 13th and 14th centuries.
