In the South Tyrolean part of the Zillertal Alps, in the heart of the Pfunderer Mountains, lies the Brixen Hut at 2,282 metres. The shortest and at the same time most varied approach starts in Vals at the Fane Alm, a traditional alpine village.
The hike begins along a gravel road through the alpine village of Fane, with its huts, barns and small church. Then follow Trail No. 17 along the Vals Stream to the waterfalls. From there, the trail continues with a moderate ascent to the Brixen Hut, the destination of the hike. The route is also suitable for families and offers beautiful views over the Vals Valley.
