Safety information
The route is unfortunately not suitable for strollers due to a short path (not visible on the map).Roadbook
With the cable car at our back we start towards Unterberg and shortly after the small bridge turn right onto the gravel path. Down by the stream a short left, then we cross the Großarlbach and the road. Be careful here. Opposite it continues on the farm road. The path ascends and soon reaches the forest. Nevertheless, there are occasional beautiful views. Soon the branch-off to the Heugathalm is reached. The sign is unmistakable, I photographed it. For a short stretch, the path goes over a trail, then back onto a forest road. This short section is not suitable for strollers.
At a farm the hiking trail is well signposted again. The road continues to ascend moderately and offers a lovely view towards Himmelsknoten. Past hay barns and over pasture gates we reach the Heugathalm.
It is worth stopping here with the very friendly hostesses. There is always homemade cake and snacks.
The descent follows the ascent path back to the farm. Here keep right and follow the road downwards. Past the parking lot and with a left bend downwards we finally reach the valley road and cross it carefully. Along the stream back to the parking lot at the gondola.
Parking
There are free parking spaces at the cable car.Coordinates
