On the sunny side of Sexten, on the pasture-rich southern slopes of the Helm, the great shower experience takes place! Nowhere there fails to offer impressive views of the massive rock formations of the Sexten Dolomites. With a modern cable car and a well-developed network of trails, the Helm is an Elysium of enjoyable hiking. Among the many grateful valley descents, we choose the most direct and shortest here. Even without summit visits, it provides people with keen senses a fully satisfying mountain tour.
Take the Helm cable car from the valley station in Sexten up to the mountain station and the westernly located Helm restaurant. From there, take the natural road to the left (southeast) down to the right turn of a grassy forest road. This road (trail no. 4) descends in switchbacks to the west to a ski slope and on it down the wooded west ridge of the Helm in bends to a junction. Left the forest road (trail no. 4) continues down in switchbacks to another fork. Also left here and down the forest trail to the southeast to a crossing asphalt road. Follow this briefly to the left to the Ghf. Waldruhe, 1560 m. Now follow the "Biblical contemplation path" west down into the forest and there to the cup stones (prehistoric cult site). Continue westward down to cross the gravel track no. 4D near some millstones. On it in bends over meadows and through forest parcels southwards down to Innerlahner Hof in Schmieden. There on the asphalt road to the left into the village area of Sexten and back to
