Those who start out early on a clear, sunny weekday morning in spring or autumn can hope to experience their "Heaven of Bavaria" here: The route goes from Seefeld Castle along an idyllic path by the stream up to Widdersberg, where a splendid view of Andechs and the Alpine range opens up; afterwards, it is time to explore the secrets of a forest trail that stretches for kilometers, which finally leads from the shady darkness into the magnificent landscape at the foot of the "Holy Mountain." Upon arrival at the Andechs Monastery at the top, one may delight both spiritually and physically, say a prayer of thanks in the monastery church, and prepare for the return journey with hearty and enjoyable delicacies in the monastery tavern. The route ultimately leads back down to the shores of Lake Ammersee through the Kiental valley. This tour, featuring a stream, lake, field path, cow pasture, forest trail, mountain view, church, and inn, almost represents a panorama of all the beautiful things that make our homeland so lovable, and it overcomes an elevation difference of 300 meters. However, caution is advised: this hike is only suitable for robust hikers with solid orientation skills. It should also be considered that many hopeful hikers heading to Andechs ended up reminded more of the Oktoberfest due to the motorized crowds on holidays, rather than a solemn retreat for reflection. So, when and with what expectations you undertake this tour should be carefully considered.
The first part of the route up to WP 3 is identical with tour 53 "Hechendorf – Andechs (2)" (more detailed description in tour 53 "Hechendorf – Andechs (2)"): From the Seefeld-Hechendorf S-Bahn station, it goes over to Seefeld, up to Seefeld Castle and along the beautiful forest path along the stream to Widdersberg and the Widdersberger Weiher pond. Here, instead of turning right, we continue uphill on the main street of the village, passing the church and the road junction to Andechs (Andechser Straße). Just 40 meters further, we turn right into Friedinger Straße ("footpath to Andechs"). The paved service road slopes gently uphill out of Widdersberg, the landscape opens up, and suddenly the view to the church of Andechs is revealed, perched 4.5 km away on the Andechser Berg; behind it to the left, the Zugspitze can be seen on a clear day. The road turns into a field path; at a fork, we keep right and thus pass a farmstead descending to a forested area. The path makes a left curve here,
