From the top of Halnekollen you can see out over the Hardangervidda and Hallingskarvet national parks, as well as the Hardangerjøkulen Glacier. Offering a short hike with panoramic views, Halne makes a great point to stop on a drive over Hardangervidda. Stop at the café at Halne Fjellstugu after the hike for a well-earned treat.

Roadbook
Follow the trail between the cabins which leads straight up the hill ahead. It’s a steady, but not too demanding climb.
Once you are almost level with the communications tower to your right-hand side, follow the trail to the right which leads up to the tower on the Halnekollen peak.

Directions
The trail begins behind Halne Fjellstugu, a tourist cabin along Norwegian Scenic Route Hardangervidda on the Hardangervidda mountain plateau.
The cabin is 14.5 kilometres from Haugastøl, and 36 kilometers from Geilo, along Road 7. Coming from Eidfjord, the cabin is 30 kilometers east of Vøringsfossen.
