Beautiful circular hike with a visit to the forested summit of the Gspitzter Riegel. The only difficulty of the hike is finding the correct turns. The route was carried out as part of the hikes of the AV Youth Wiener Neustadt and was prepared and led by David (16 years old at the time of the hike).

Safety information
For orientation, it is advisable to take a map. In the immediate vicinity of the town, it is relatively easy to find your way back to 'civilization.' So it is not a problem if the route is varied. There are also orientation boards and information about the trails at the old fire station.Tips and suggestions

Roadbook
From the Old Fire Station we go uphill along the marked hiking trail heading south. At the first junction of a marked path, we keep left, continuing south. The trail crosses a forest road that merges into another. Here we do not follow the marking but go downhill on the forest road. We cross a stream to once again reach a marked trail with the forest road. We cross it. We stay on the forest road, heading northwest. At the junction, we change direction, going right, east. At the next opportunity, we turn left in a curve again heading northwest and cross another marked trail. We continue and finally turn left, now more southwest, onto the newly reached marked trail. Signposts lead us to the Gspitzter Riegel. From the summit, a path leads roughly north to a marked hiking trail that brings us back to Bad Sauerbrunn.
The detour to the observation tower is also accessible from the Old Fire Station. We ascend the serpentine path with exercise stations. Along the way, there are several things to try out. The tower itself has more than 100 steps.
