Grüntenhütte 1477 MSafety information
Shoes with a coarse tread profile are advantageous. Better to hold children's hands on the last meters to the summit.Tips and suggestions
Just below the summit, you can also make a detour to the Grünten hut to refresh yourself.Roadbook
From the free car park at the cemetery in Rettenberg, the route first goes across a meadow to a path that leads down a few meters in the forest to the stream and playground. Then uphill on a beautiful forest path to the Alpe Kammeregg. It is worth stopping here, especially on the way down. Afterwards, the path continues over meadows and the last 150 meters in altitude is a bit steeper to the summit. Just before the summit, there are 1-2 spots where small children should be taken by the hand because the path drops steeply to the side. At the summit, there is plenty of space to sit in the meadow and enjoy the panorama.
In early summer, you should wear shoes with good tread soles, as some parts of the hiking trail, especially the last section of the summit ascent, can still be very muddy. Those wearing sneakers here can easily slip. The route is absolutely suitable for families.
