The highest peak of the Hagen Mountains, the Große Teufelshorn, together with the Kleines Teufelshorn, forms one of the most striking rock formations of the Berchtesgaden Alps. Both peaks are located very remote above the Obersee in the Röth. From the summit of the Große Teufelshorn there is a breathtaking panoramic view; especially the view of the Hochkönig, the Königssee and Obersee as well as the Watzmann lying behind them is impressive. So if you are looking for lonely peaks in a pristine and scenically impressive area, this tour is just right. The tour is designed as a two-day tour.
1st day: Ascent to Wasseralm via the Röthsteig (860 m ascent, 50 m descent, 7.2 km, 3.30 hours)From the Königssee car park, 605 m, we walk to the lakeside, the pier of the Königssee ships, and take the boat in 60 minutes across the whole Königssee to the Salet pier, 605 m. Here we follow the wide hiking trail to the right to the Obersee, 615 m, and go around the lake on its right side on a wide path carved into the rocks. We leave the Fischunkelalm on the left and cross over a small forest ridge into the Fischunkelkessel, 710 m. Here our path continues straight into the forest and then ascends through some bends through the increasingly steep forest slope up to a junction, 940 m. We keep right and follow the Röthsteig, secured at many places, diagonally upwards through the steep, rocky Röthwand. After overcoming a final secured section already in the forest, the path flattens and now essentially follows the course of the Röthbach, past the dilapidated Sonntagalm, 1310 m, and through
