Große Pleißlingkeil

From the Vordergnadenalm on the gravel road, level through the flat valley floor to the Hintergnadenalm and alternating on road and marked trail to the Südwiener Hütte (1.5 hrs). From the hut, now in a southeastern direction on the marked trail towards the Große Pleißlingkeil: first, after a somewhat steeper ascent, you reach the plateau near the grassy peak of the Hengst, then the path leads with gentle ups and downs to the foot of the Kleine Pleißlingkeil, whose rubble-covered northern flank is crossed by the trail into a rubble cirque. In the cirque, at a fork, continue straight into the steep rubble flank of the Große Pleißlingkeil (the path branching to the right leads to the Kleine Pleißlingkeil). The trail leads through the slope to the northern ridge and over this to the forepeak; the main peak of the Große Pleißlingkeil is reached via the rubble-covered summit ridge in a few minutes.
