Drive with the car or hiking taxi to the Vorderstadluck parking lot. (Alternatively: ascent via the Hertas Rast (path no. 17, approx. 1 h). Shortly before the Vorderstadluck farm, you hike on the tractor path or alpine trail (path no. 65) uphill towards Saukaralm until you reach the forest road (path no. 66), which leads you to the Gerstreitalm, 1,575 m (approx. 1 h). Return via the somewhat steeper hiking trail (no. 65A) to the starting point of the route (approx. 1 h). Of course, you can also first ascend via the hiking trail and then descend via the forest or tractor road.
Variant Heugahtalm - Gerstreitalm:
Drive with the car on Rosensteinweg to the Heugathalm parking lot (below the Rosenstein farmer). Hike on path no. 66 to the Heugathalm, 1,235 m (approx. 1/2 h). From there continue on the forest road past the Gölleralm (not managed) to the Gerstreitalm, 1,575 m (approx. 1 1/2 h).
