From Greimerath to Bergen, you mostly hike along secluded paths through the Greimerath Forest. The route leads through quiet forest passages to the Judenkopf.
Nothing can be seen of the former Luise ore mine, which was located in what is now the "Ochsenwiese" nature reserve, and the tunnel entrances, which led under the main road far into the slope of the Judenkopf, are closed. From a bench at the Ochsenwiese nature reserve, the view sweeps across the wet meadows. The approximately 60-hectare site is home to the endangered whinchat, as well as the threatened meadow bird species snipe and meadow pipit.
The dream loop runs along the nature reserve on a meadow path. Taurus cattle have been living there since 2013. They help to keep the wet meadows open in order to secure the livelihood of rare animals and plants. At the end of the hike, you reach the church behind the village's sports facilities via a meadow path, in the shade of which there is a Lourdes grotto.
The trail has been certified by the German Hiking Institute as a premium trail with 65 experience points.

Roadbook
Once we arrive at the "Im Hölzchen" hiking parking lot, we turn left briefly and then immediately right again and follow a path to the wooden bridge over the Großbach stream. We cross the stream and soon afterwards the district road and walk through the middle of the nature reserve until we cross the main road. Now we climb about 1 km uphill to the ridge of the Judenkopf forest area. A narrow border path takes us to a small seating area. This place again offers us a good view. We continue along the border path, initially slightly uphill, then steadily downhill. We come to a wider cross-path, which after 500 m leads us to the Saar-Hunsrück Steig premium long-distance hiking trail. Both paths run parallel along a stream to the outskirts of Bergen.
Here, the Traumschleife and Saar-Hunsrück Steig separate again and we follow a narrow path to the left, which takes us almost 2 km uphill through mixed forest. At the end, we reach a forest path called "Kastanienallee". We walk along a path next to this avenue and soon see the village of Greimerath again.
Via various forest paths and trails, we reach a wooden bridge over the Eselsbach stream. 50m after the bridge, a meadow path takes us back through the old village center of Greimerath to the starting point next to the church of St. Nikolaus.
