Graslitzen, 2044 m
The Hermagor tour area includes the steep, grass-covered rocky peaks of the Spitzegel and Vellacher Egel and the double-peaked Graslitzen with its jagged ridge. Egel means "needle", and the triumvirate rises into the sky like needles. The Graslitzen stands out from its pointy neighbors with a magnificent ridge hike from the western to the eastern summit with a length of more than 1 km, where the entire Gailtal lies at our feet. However, the steep, grassy southern flanks over which our path leads are very hot in midsummer, so the nearby Pressegger See, also known as the "Carinthian bathtub" due to its warm temperatures, is a great place to cool off after the tour.
We cross the meadow in front of the stable and head north into the forest (old, faint markings no. 54). The trail soon becomes clearer and allows us to find our rhythm at a leisurely pace, initially only climbing gently. Very steep and pathless, the trail then continues in the alpine ditch over gravel and rocks up to approx. 900 m, where a large round marker directs us to the left out of the ditch, then just as steeply in the forest parallel to the ditch up to 1050 m. A pleasant forest path begins here, which ends at a small hunting lodge at 1451 m with a beautiful view of Lake Presseggersee (good resting place). The further ascent east of the hut leads steeply across the meadow (blurred markings) into the forest and over a rib with a constant steepness into a grassy slope interspersed with rocks.
