The Ueckermünder Heide is one of the largest contiguous forest areas in Germany. It borders the Stettiner Haff to the north, which with 900 km² is the second largest of the Baltic Sea. On our hike, we circle the heavily silted Grambiner Moor, located in glorious, secluded mixed forests, which is now also wooded.
We begin the hike at the hiking car park in Mönkebude. Those arriving by bus get off at the stop at the church, turn right at the signpost into Lübser Landstraße and after 500 m reach the starting point of the hike. We follow a green dot marking that guides us until shortly before Zarowmühl. In the forest, after 5 minutes, we turn left at a junction with a signpost. At the next junction, we go straight ahead and after 500 m take a right at another junction. Now we follow the green dot for a longer time through the forest and over a pasture until after 25 minutes we reach a resting place. Here we keep left and hike on a beautiful path to a junction with a hiking car park just before the shore of the Zarow. Those who want to make a detour can reach Zarowmühl in a few minutes via the small asphalt road on the right. From the hiking car park we go – now without marking – on the asphalt road heading north.
