At all times of the year, city dwellers are drawn to the Iller meadows, practically the lifeline of the Allgäu. On a huge riverbank, the mountain river has scoured sandstone walls clean, making the layering structure clearly visible.
We begin our carefree Iller walk under the North Bridge in Kempten, 665 m, and follow the residential street towards Ursulasried. After a few bends, we cross a small stream from the allotment gardens on a farm road. A short hiking trail then follows. In Ursulasried, 682 m, we notice the sign "Illersteilufer" and take the footpath on Dieselstraße to the right. At the nature reserve information board behind the substation, we escape into solitude again on a forest path. After passing the shooting range and the single property Seifriedsberg, we find a memorial stone to the Efriedsberg refuge castle over the Iller floods at a bend.Now the route changes to a path along the Iller steep bank. From the two farms of Hafenthal, we walk downhill on a residential street. A small detour takes us from the Leubas Bridge to the hamlet of Gräbelesmühle with the former mill.We walk back to the Leubas Bridge and shortly thereafter arrive at the small hamlet of Nasengrub near the nearby Leubas confluence,
