Bizarre colored sandstone rocks line the circular route; beautiful views reward the uphill parts of the hike.
The rock path starts at the parking lot on Straße Am Kaiserbach opposite the community center in Gossersweiler. We leave Gossersweiler southwards and turn right with steps into the forest on the Eichelberg. At the Krimhildenstein, you are rewarded with a beautiful view. The path continues up the Eichelberg to the next viewpoint. On a zigzag path, we descend to a small resting place and then continue to the Three Rocks. Towards Gossersweiler, the path then goes left down into the valley. After a short ascent, the path meets the Klingbach cycle path and shortly after turns left again. After the ascent to the Rötzenfelsen, it invites you to a wonderful view over the biosphere reserve. Continuing towards the 4-Castle View, a path leads steeply down into the valley. Once in the valley, we first walk left and then half-right to the Isselmannsteine. Then it goes downhill back to Gossersweiler.

Safety information
General information:
Especially in autumn, be aware that fallen leaves may conceal unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or heavy rain, trees may still fall or branches may break off afterward. In adverse weather conditions, natural paths may have muddy and slippery sections. Not all rocks or precipices are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is sometimes required. You must expect such path impairments when hiking. If you think certain sections are not passable for you, you should avoid them.
NOTE:
We strive to announce all closures caused by forestry work or hunting on this platform. Nevertheless, there may be situations where hiking trails are closed and we have not been informed. Should you unexpectedly encounter a trail closure or detour, please observe the instructions for your own safety.

Roadbook
The rock path, which starts in Gossersweiler-Stein, leads around the Eichelberg above the district of Stein and onto the Rötzenberg. Several colored sandstone rocks can be discovered during the hike, such as the Engelmannsfelsen, the Krimhildenstein, the Rötzenfelsen, and the Isselmannsteine.
The rock hiking trail begins at the parking lot on the Straße am Kaiserbach opposite the community center in Gossersweiler. Those arriving by bus get off a few meters further at the bus stop at the church on Alte Landstraße. A few meters further, also on Alte Landstraße, there is another parking lot and a hiking information board. From here you can already enjoy the view of the Engelmannsfelsen above the village and of Trifels Castle and Asselstein in the distance.
We now hike south in the direction of the Stein district. At the end of Gossersweiler district, the rock path leads right with steps into the forest on the Eichelberg. Uphill, past a water reservoir and a small Lourdes grotto, it goes to the first rock with a view, the Krimhildenstein. Here you look over the Wasgau and towards Lindelbrunn Castle.
At the junction directly above, we follow the path uphill and hike on the ridge of the Eichelberg to the next beautiful viewpoint. From there, we descend on a zigzag path to a small resting place. After a few meters, we leave the wide path again to the right and reach the Three Rocks. Further downhill, it goes on a wider path initially back towards Gossersweiler. Attention, do not go all the way back into the village here, but at the junction turn sharply left into the meadow and stream valley at Wollborn. We follow this path through the meadows for a longer stretch straight ahead.
After a bench, we go about 50 m straight ahead before the rock path turns right into another valley. Then the path climbs, turns right at the T-junction, and then flows into the hiking and bike path between Gossersweiler and Lindelbrunn. We follow this path to the right east towards Gossersweiler, then turn left at the next junction.
After a few meters, you reach the "Dimbacher Colored Sandstone Ridge Path", which is certified as a premium trail and also passes numerous colored sandstone rocks. Over the Rötzenberg to the Isselmannsteine, the path runs parallel to our rock path in places.
First, the ascent to the Rötzenfelsen awaits. From up there, you have a wonderful view over the Palatinate Forest-North Vosges Biosphere Reserve. A bench invites you to rest. The tour continues over rocks on the ridge of the Rötzenberg. Then we walk straight down to the 4-Castle View, a small shelter with a wonderful view of Ramburg, Neuscharfeneck, Trifels, and Madenburg castles. The path down is a bit steep, and caution is advised especially in wet weather.
Further downhill, we come across a wider path, which we follow a short distance to the left before turning right onto a path along the Isselmannstein. At the end of the Isselmannsteine, we again reach a wider hiking path, into which we then turn right and walk downhill back to Gossersweiler, the starting point of our hike.
