Götz Tour Hike

The start is in the charming old town of Gundelsheim before passing Schloss Horneck and ascending the Himmelleiter into the Gundelsheim Himmelreich. On the ascent, it is worth looking back at Schloss Horneck, the weir, and the Neckar valley – a highlight of the route early in the hike. The hike leads over the Höhenweg of Michaelberg with its chapel before continuing past the forest parking lot, always along the forest edge. Before the Böttinger Hof, the path leads left. First, guests can enjoy a romantic descent before ascending to Hornberg Castle after crossing the valley floor. Explore the castle where Götz von Berlichingen had his residence and enjoy the breathtaking view. On the way back, you will pass the small hamlet of Stockbronn before entering the quiet, idyllic Gundelsheim forest. Here you can experience pure nature. On the return journey, you can take a break again at the Sauwiese. There is a barbecue facility available here. Or you might succumb to the culinary temptations of Gundelsheim’s gastronomy.
