The “Dachsi Trail” with natural forest experience features and disabled parking is designed to be barrier-free and offers people with disabilities the opportunity to experience the forest as a place for recreation and experience. The approximately 2 km long trail is suitable for all age groups in terms of slope, path width, surface, and information options.
The natural forest experience features placed along the trail offer hikers further ways to engage their senses. In addition, the Kriegsberghütte of the Palatinate Forest Association Göllheim adjacent to the "Dachsi Trail" has been redesigned to be barrier-free and equipped with accessible toilet facilities. A generation-connecting playground was created in close proximity to the hut. The playground is equipped with various devices (rocking swing, climbing tower, mobilization, and exercise equipment) and can be used by all age groups.
The complete package with the barrier-free redesigned Kriegsberghütte, the generation-connecting playground, and the Dachsi Trail provides the opportunity to bring the forest closer as a recreational area also for people with disabilities.

- Remember a garbage bag for the way and take your trash back home with you.
- Please keep your dog on a leash at all times. Other visitors and animals will thank you.
- Observe all trail closures for your own safety, even on weekends.

Safety information
Especially in autumn, note that fallen leaves can conceal unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or rainstorms, trees can still fall or branches fall down afterward. Natural paths can have muddy and slippery sections in adverse weather conditions. Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is required in places. You must expect such path impairments when hiking. If you find certain path sections impassable, you should bypass them.
NOTICE:
We strive to announce all closures caused by forestry work or hunting societies on this platform. Nevertheless, there are situations where trails are closed and we might not have been informed. If you unexpectedly encounter a trail closure or detour, please heed the instructions for your own safety.
Roadbook
The starting point is the parking lot below the Kriegsberghütte. There are also two disabled parking spaces marked there.
At the life tower, which was filled by the children of the two Göllheim schools and kindergartens for insects, birds, and small animals, we go, after taking a look through the picture frame at Rosenthalerhof, to the rest bench Sonnenblick.
All signs are placed at a low height to allow children and people in wheelchairs a comfortable view. At the chestnut tree, you can learn not only about the spiky fruit but also have a snack at a solid accessible wooden table.
Freshly refreshed, you proceed to the wellness point “Forest feels good” with back rollers, knobby log, and balance log. Here, hikers can relax, find calm, or test their fitness.
"Water is life" is the next point on the Dachsi trail. Water retention in the forest, small biotopes, and water management are explained with a sign.
The geology of the Göllheim forest is shown on a rock massif and explained by a sign.
The route ends back at the starting point Kriegsberghütte of the Palatinate Forest Association.
