From Peak to Peak with Views of Lakes, the Sea, Islands, and Many Mountains

In conversations with Scottish mountain enthusiasts, the seven Munros that can be climbed in a single hike often come up quickly. Nowhere else can you ascend so many of the famous Scottish summits with so little mileage. Due to the generally easy route and the few places where you need to use your hands, this route is also very popular with trail runners. The constant ups and downs demand a lot from the hiker, as over 1800 meters of elevation and 28 kilometers have to be covered throughout the day. However, the effort is rewarded: 360° views from the Munros to the north, Glen Shiel itself, the small lochs in the shadow of the mountains, and not to forget Loch Quoich in the south, Ben Nevis and the Marmores to the southeast, and to the west the Isle of Skye with its distinctive peaks and offshore islands. The distance to the deer fence soon increases, and shortly afterward it swings north away; from here we hike in a small zig-zag steeper uphill, crossing smaller tributaries more often. After the ford over a watercourse formed from two smaller streams, our path leads clearly in switchbacks (at a cairn, we stay left on the broader path) through rocky terrain uphill to Bealach Duibh Leac. There we also see an old wall that
