You can reach Scharnitz as a starting point very conveniently and environmentally friendly by public transport from both Tyrol and Bavaria. The ÖBB/DB train route between Munich-Garmisch-Innsbruck runs regularly here, summer and winter. From the station, head south, briefly along the main road, until the path turns left into the Karwendeltäler.Directions
By car, you pass the border village of Scharnitz on the federal road between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Innsbruck. Parking is available at the large parking lot in the “Länd”: coming from Tyrol, turn right before the Isar; from Bavaria, turn left after the Isar.Parking
