An incredibly beautiful ridge hike over and along eight peaks between the passes popular with motorcyclists and the military between the cantons of Lucerne and Obwalden: Glaubenbielen and Glaubenberg. At least two peaks (Haldimattstock and Looegg) must be crossed; others can be bypassed on the left or right. Peak climbers, however, to complete a dozen, will add the Miesen- and Riedmattstock loop after two difficult and underbrush-laden elevations. Whatever path we choose, one thing is certain: Faith brings bliss. So does hiking.
From Glaubenbielen, bus stop parking lot, on the asphalt road to Alp Glaubenbielen, 1578 m, alpine farm. Continue on the marked path towards Nünalpstock until approx. 1690 m, where it begins to cross under the Rotspitz. Now over the grassy, lightly wooded southern ridge (some mostly faded markings; path traces) to the narrow summit of Rotspitz, 1787 m. Back to the hiking trail, through under the Rotspitz (briefly somewhat rocky and stepped on) and down to the ridge, approx. 1685 m. Over Heimegg and up the steep ascent to the south and main summit of Nünalpstock, 1900 m. Right below the north summit (with signpost) through to the grassy-moorish northeast ridge. With small counter-climbs down to approx. 1750 m and up to Haldimattstock, 1792 m. Descent via the northeast ridge to 1681 m and northwards through harmonious moorland to the flat Looegg, 1750 m.
