From Bleier Sag with the large waterwheel, we follow (signpost "Gießenbachklamm") first the road on the right side of the stream through forest, until after about 400 m a footbridge leads left over the Gießenbach. Continue on the right along the stream to the small restored "Kraftwerk Gießenbach" (Gießenbach power station). Pass on the left and climb more than 100 steps up to the actual, well-secured gorge path, which offers magnificent views deep down into the wild Front Gießenbach Gorge up to a retention dam. We now cross again to the other side on a path and soon reach the meadows of Schopperalm, where refreshments are possible. Behind the alm, we continue on the previous path until we reach a farm road. This continues to the left into the long Gießenbach valley. The path passes the (ruined) Karrersäg sawmill and then continues comfortably upstream, initially on the orographic left side, then crosses to the right side, where we pass the – in contrast to the Front Gießenbach Gorge –
