GeoTour: Via the Geo-Park into the Urseebachtal valley
Halfway between Raitenbuch and Lenzkirch, the small Ursee lake in the valley of the same name ekes out a tranquil existence. Although you are rarely alone on the Ursee circular trail, which surrounds the nature reserve, its larger siblings - Titisee, Windgfällweiher and Schluchsee - receive far more visitors. Although the lakes do not appear to be siblings at first glance due to their very different sizes, what they have in common is that their origins can be traced back to the former glacial cover of the Feldberg massif. The ice streams that advanced far into the valleys created hollow shapes that form today's lake landscapes. Today's extensive walk takes us from Lenzkirch via the small Geo-Park into the Urseebachtal valley and offers interesting insights into the bedrock and the remains of the Haslach glacier from the last ice age.
