GeoTour: From Seebrugg to Altglashütten
Situated at an altitude of 930 m, Schluchsee is the largest lake in the Black Forest. However, the fact that it surpasses Lake Titisee in terms of surface area and volume is only thanks to its artificial damming. Surrounded by peaks up to 1300 m high, the region is extremely popular with holidaymakers and day trippers, but fortunately cannot be compared with Lake Titisee in terms of kitsch and clichés. The southern shore in particular, with its popular stop-off point at Unterkrummenhof, scores highly with hikers thanks to its easy paths and charming rest areas. Here, on the untraveled south side, we circle half of the Schluchsee and then climb up to the Bildstein, the most beautiful viewpoint of the lake. Via the Windgfällweiher pond, we finally descend to Feldberg-Altglashütten.
